The Irlen® Testing Process
The client takes the Long Test found at irlen.com. The test is emailed to the Screener. The client meets with the Screener who will present visual testing. If the client shows a need, the Screener will proceed with testing by presenting Irlen® overlays.
While the overlays are beneficial to some. Irlen® Spectral Filters are necessary for many. After being screened, clients can then be referred to an Irlen Diagnostician for an individualized tinting appointment.

Screening Appointment
The client meets with the Screener who will present visual testing. If the client shows a need, the Screener will proceed with testing using Irlen overlays to determine the color most beneficial in calming the brain and stopping visual distortion.
This process takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
Fee: $200
Colored overlays may be purchased for $5 each.

Spectral Filter/Tinting Appointment
After being screened, clients can then be referred to an Irlen® Diagnostician for an individualized tinting appointment. This process is thorough and specific to each client. Seventy percent of all spectral filters made are unique to the client.
This process takes approximately 2 hours.
Fee: $400
A yearly re-evaluation of tint - $200. A 15% discount is given to second and more direct family members. Screeners receive 20% discounts.
Clients need to bring the following to the tinting appointment: 1) eyeglass frames 2) copy of screening information 3) prescription CR39 lenses with no coatings or tinting 4) copy of eyeglass prescription with Pupillary Distance
Note: Children under the age of 18 must have industrial-strength lenses.
