About

B.S. Elementary Education
14+ years of tutoring experience

I began my tutoring career in 2010 as a tutor for adjudicated youth in Clarinda, Iowa. I was trained in the Corrective Reading and Corrective Math programs, which I still use today as my foundational materials.

During that time I began private tutoring with public school students and adults. Over the next 11 years, I started my own business, tutoring children in the community. I also spent two of those years in Creston, Iowa at The Learning Center of Southwest Iowa as a Teacher Supervisor and tutor. In 2021 I moved to Omaha, Nebraska to pursue full-time tutoring. I have operated Piece of the Puzzle Tutoring Service, LLC since that time. I offer one-to-one learning services throughout the school year as well as an 8-week summer session.

My hobbies are bicycling, kayaking, reading, gardening, and spending time with my children and grandchildren. My Christian faith is the basis for my life and work.

My Philosophy on Learning

Everyone learns at their own pace, therefore, you do not sign a contract for a set number of sessions. Students work for the amount of time it takes to achieve their learning goals.

I believe every person is capable of learning. I aim to find the best way to teach each student in the most meaningful and efficient way possible using the “I Do - We Do - You Do” learning method.

Nothing fancy. Just simple and effective.
